Ubuntu: Secondary Nework Interface not handling external Traffic in AWS



Question:

Preface: I am trying to add a second IP address so I can have two CA-authorized SSL certificates used on the same server.

So I have an Ubuntu server in the AWS with two Elastic IP addresses each attached to their own respective network interfaces.

The primary (initial) network interface continues to work flawlessly. I can telnet (externally) into an open port using the IP address attached to the first NIC.

When I attempt to telnet internally to either localhost, the primary IP, or the secondary IP, then everything works fine.

I am using the exact same security-group profile for the second Network Interface as I am on the first. Also, the NIC are attached and have their Elastic IPs successfully attached to the same EC2 instance. (So I am sure it is not an AWS issue). I have also updated the DNS for the domains using the new IP (and I've been using just the Public IP address anyway).

However, I just can't successfully communicate through the second NIC. I am wondering if I have a routing issue.
