Ubuntu: grub-mkconfig Syntax error: EOF in backquote substitution



Question:

I tried to use the command sudo update-grub, but the response was:

/usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig: 36: /etc/default/grub: Syntax error: EOF in backquote substitution  

Then when I open /usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig, this is what is inside:

I think my grub-mkconfig is wrong, I can't identify where the problem is specifically. It might be that my grub-mkconfig is in the default settings.
