Ubuntu: Failed installation from liveusb left me stuck trying to write Ubuntu Studio Iso from Resca Tux

Question:

Feeling like a total n00b here. I created a live USB of Ubuntu Studio, installed it as usual, and noticed that my PC wouldn't boot from the hard drive. My boot menu shows both of the flash drives I had plugged in but shows them both as the Resca Tux iso I am using to not only save my system, but also am using to type this right now. Resca Tux runs off of Debian 8 so I thought I could create a live usb but usb-creator-gtk won't install, nor will unetbootin or even the etcher appimage. Can I use the sudo dd command or is there another option to get me out of this corner?
