Ubuntu: Ethernet and wifi no longer working on Ubuntu 16.04

Question:

I've been running Ubuntu 16.04 (dual-boot with Windows 10) for the past week. When I booted today, I could no longer connect to the internet: Ubuntu no longer finds any wifi connections, and when I plug in an ethernet cable it fails to detect that as well. Both were working fine yesterday and still work fine in Windows.

I have a Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 card for ethernet and Realtek b822 card for wifi. After I installed Ubuntu, only the ethernet card worked. I managed to get the wifi card to work by installing the driver for it using reply #6 in this thread. It then worked just fine for about a week.

Restarting network manager doesn't help.

I've spent the last few hours googling like a maniac, but haven't found any solutions to my problem. Below is some terminal output which may be relevant.
