Ubuntu: KDE power management cannot start

Question:

So I had updated plasma today through Konsole, to the latest version. Ever since the update I cannot access Power Management (Energy Saving.) this is how it looks through settings: http://i.imgur.com/aeVmP20.png

I tried reinitializing Power Management through Background Services as recommended by the prompt. the box is ticked, and clicking on start will only result in an error message (I'd love to send a picture, but I'm told I need reputation:( )

the resulting error message, it mentions powerdevil: http://i.imgur.com/oFUkQir.png

I have only been using Kubuntu for 1.5 weeks, so I am basically a complete noob. I am only capable of navigating through the CLI, so I may need a bit more thorough explanations.

Thus so far I am a bit disappointed with (Linux) Kubuntu, I don't know how exactly but this has been my fifth major bug since installing, not to mention the one where I had to fix GRUB just after installing. So I'm a bit frustrated but am still trying real hard to fix the problems I encounter. This is the first case I can't seem to fix using all resources I could find yet, and I have been at it for the last two and a half hours.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just a little bit frustrated right now and I think I needed to vent.

Thanks in advance for any help!

P.S.: I have already tried both suggested solutions in this thread my problem is that with the second solution messagebus:x:110: and messagebus:x:106:110::/var/run/dbus:/bin/false seems to be correct in my case. (Though I couldn't find an nvram:x:...: entry in my listed etc/group, only the messagebus:x:..: entry.)

P.P.S.: searching using: "unable to start service powerdevil" I found many bug reports, maybe this can help someone with a solution.
